Meet Ashley and Sarah, the masterminds behind the Rival & Queen podcast. We chatted with these two boss ladies about their experience with Bend Beauty, what creating a beautiful life means to them and how they’re recognizing International Women’s Day this year.
How did you find Bend Beauty products, and what has your experience been like since you’ve been on them?
Ashley: I have used Bend Beauty products for years. Vicky Mina gifted me a bottle once after she raved about the benefits, but it really wasn’t until Brooke came on our podcast to educate us further on the benefits that I incorporated into my daily routine. This year’s International Women’s Day Theme is #ChooseToChallenge. What are you challenging this year in the context of International Women’s Day?
Ashley: It’s been a hard year for everyone, but particularly a difficult year for women. We were so lucky to be able to continue creating and putting our podcast out there during the entire pandemic, which was an outlet that Sarah and I are grateful for. It was also a way we could use our voice and give others the platform as well and have tough conversations about different things going on in the world. We, along with our fellow female podcasters, want to celebrate what we have accomplished in the past year and celebrate those around us. Today is a good reminder that we do have a lot to celebrate but we do have a lot of work to still do. #ChooseToChallenge is about continuing today and everyday to challenge gender bias and inequality, and both women and men collectively can create an inclusive world together.
Sarah: We’re taking part in International Women’s Day this year by collaborating with a group of female podcasters to celebrate together and share each other’s voices. #ChooseToChallenge is all about challenging gender bias and inequality. We are so grateful that podcasting gives us, as women, a platform to share our voices and our perspective on topics we may not get to share otherwise. We also believe there is so much value in learning about others and their lived experiences. Ashley and I make a conscious effort on Rival & Queen to bring on a variety of guests who have different expertise, perspective, backgrounds and experiences from us, so we can learn from them and help them share their gifts and talents.
